Latest Finds From Renningers
We’re sharing our latest finds from Renningers today!
As many of you know, I’ve been working alongside my parents to give my childhood home a complete refresh this summer.
It’s been a ton of work but my parents were able to finish painting the last two rooms just after the 4th of July and having all the painting behind us now feels amazing.
While there is still a lot to do, we’ve made enough progress to start looking for special pieces, furniture, linens, and wall art which is always exciting.
So, last weekend, we headed down to Renninger’s to attend their summer yard sale event.
I’ll be honest, this was the hottest it’s ever been which might account for the fact it was also the smallest amount of vendors and shoppers I’ve ever seen.
In fact, I didn’t even get a picture of the booths as you’re walking into the gate like I normally do because it was that sparse.
These pictures are from a few years ago if you want to see what it usually looks like though.
Sometimes we go down to Renningers with a list of things we’re hoping to find. Other times, we stay open to whatever strikes our fancy.
My Mom is one of those people if she sees it and loves it, she’ll find a place for it.
Even if it doesn’t fit her original vision.
And since she was taking the lead, it was fun to go with the flow without any expectations.
We truly never know what we’re going to find but that’s what makes treasure hunting so exciting!Â
Here’s a look at our Latest Finds from Renningers as well as a few things we picked up from the treasure-hunting loop as well…
*This post was updated July 2023
Furniture…
Three of the biggest things on our list were a desk, nightstand, and dresser for my room at Loblolly.
My Dad made my headboard so I definitely want to keep it but the rest of the pieces in the room (save for a small nightstand) were all hand-me-downs.
They were never really to scale but since none of us live at Loblolly full time, we just sort of made do.
That all changed when my Mom spotted this desk…
this hutch…
and this swan table though.
They were nothing like I’d envisioned having in my room, I thought I would have a proper desk. But my Mom totally fell in love with all three pieces.
They definitely need a good scrubbing and parts or all of them need to be repainted.
I have no idea how I’m going to marry some of these pieces and make it work. I told my Mom I’d be up for the challenge though so I’ll keep you posted.
My room is such a tricky space because there is not a single wall that doesn’t have a door, a door opening, or a window on it.
Lamps and Accent Pieces…
I already have one alabaster lamp in my room but my Mom wanted me to have two complementary lamps in case we ever decided to have two nightstands or bedside tables.
Here is the base of one that we found at Renningers…
and here is the lampshades we found at the local Goodwill.
While we were at that same Goodwill, I spotted this flower arrangement.
It’s not the colors we need (my Mom’s doing dusty pink accents in all the rooms) but the container is pretty and I think it will be easy to switch the blue hydrangeas out for pink ones.
While we were checking out of Goodwill, the cashier was nice enough to tell us about several other places to treasure hunt.
There we found a beautiful mirror my Dad is going to let us use in place of the medicine cabinet none of us really like or use.
Gah, it’s so hot and humid in Florida!
We have no idea if the measurements are even going to work with this mirror but for the price, it was worth taking the chance.
Our backup idea is to use it on the vanity in my Mom’s bedroom.
I mean, how dreamy are those details?
At that same store, we found this ceiling medallion which we’ll probably use in lieu of wall art in my room.
Right now there are so many different options, we just need to get back to Loblolly and play around a bit.
Vintage Jewelry…
Finally, we loaded up on vintage jewelry!
There was a seller who was cleaning out her inventory and had almost everything marked down to $1-$3. We got all these pieces.
There was a pair of green earrings, I’m STILL bummed I walked away from.
I’ve already worn the earrings and one of the necklaces. I think they’re going to be easy to mix and match!
Being able to shop and share these latest finds from Renningers has been such a fun way to enjoy the summer season.
I don’t live in the same town as my parents, sisters, or extended family. So, any time we can get together to treasure hunt feels like a big deal.
I hope you’re finding extra special ways to celebrate your summer season too. I’ll try to share more photos in Friday’s post.
Let us know what kind of tag sale goodies you’ve scored lately!

Wow did you ever make out with those treasures!! Good for you.
Thank you, Eileen! It was so much fun to be able to get out and about again. I don’t know if every haul will be this good but we definitely had a special time. I hope you’ve had a great week and your holiday weekend is a blessed one, CoCo
OH my…what a fabulous haul! I love every.single.thing. I really love all of the concrete pieces and ironstone…oh I love it all!
Looking forward to doing something like this again! Thanks for sharing!
I wish you lived closer Linda because you would LOVE this place! We never know what we’re going to find but it’s always so much fun to hunt. Sending you hugs and wishing you and your family the best holiday weekend, CoCo
What does your mother do with the diplomas she collects? We have the ones for my husband’s aunt that are very old. She taught grade school for 50 years and subbed for another 10. They had no children so no one else wanted them. She had to work so hard to get them, I couldn’t bear to let them be thrown away. I just have them stored in the closet and would love to do something with them.
That is so sweet you have your husband’s aunt’s diploma, Joyce! I know what a treasure it must be. My Mom uses the diplomas she finds in vignettes, on bookshelves, and has some of them hung up above a desk at my childhood home. She was also a grade school teacher and worked very hard to get hers as well. Every time we see a diploma that has been “left behind” now she picks it up and gives it a place of honor around the house. It’s a constant a reminder that hard work, investing in women, and education for all lead to better families. Hope your week has been a happy one, CoCo
Great finds! Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ’s.
Thanks so much for hosting each week, Ann. It’s always fun to see what people are up to. Hope you’ve had a great week so far, CoCo
If only I could have come hunting with you! You found some amazing things!
Oh my gosh, Kim, that would be so much fun to shop with you. We had the best time treasure hunting. I finally felt normal for a hot minute 🙂 Hope your 4th of July weekend was a special one, CoCo
So many gorgeous pieces – I love the tables the most, they are so beautiful! No wonder your mum was so excited. But they are all so beautiful – the detail on that dome is amazing! This was so much fun to read, I can really feel your enthusiasm for treasure hunting come through. Thank you for sharing your finds!
So glad you liked this post, Katerina! We had a great time being able to spend the weekend together and it was special to find so many great pieces at such a great price too. We’ve been staying pretty close to home since everything started with the pandemic and it was nice to get out and about again. Especially since we found those bargain tables 🙂 Hope your week has been a great one so far, CoCo
CoCo, I really enjoyed seeing all of your recent vintage treasures. What luck that your favorite vendor was having a 50% off sale! You’ve been featured this week at Celebrate Your Story! Link Party 🙂
Thank you so much, Rebecca, that is such a sweet surprise. We could not believe all the luck we had at her booth or that she was 50% off either. We’ve been staying really close to home these past few months so it was really special to be able to support her booth space and the event. I miss treasure hunting so much and I’m sure you do too! Sending you hugs and thank yous, CoCo
I am green with envy as I am swooning over all these great finds.
Have a great week,
Kippi
We couldn’t believe it Kippi! We’ve been staying pretty close to home since the pandemic started so being able to find so many things in one place was a special treat. Hope your week has been a fun one, CoCo
What great finds! I can’t wait to see how you put them together. It’ll be amazing!
Wow, CoCo!! Such FUN finds!! That swan table is just amazing!! I love stumbling upon those unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. Thanks for sharing all your finds!
Your finds are amazing CoCo! Between Facebook Marketplace, local yard sales and two Goodwills nearby we’ve found a few great pieces this summer that I’m refurbishing. It’s SO fun, thank you for sharing your haul 🙂
I totally understand the no walls without a door or window. That’s the farmhouse living room. But… the challenge of angles, nooks and crannies becomes fun. I can hardly wait to see what you do with those pieces. I’m in love with the hutch!!!
Rich and I were there on Saturday! What day did you all go?? I wish I had run into you! It’s the first time we’ve been to the yard sale, so I thought that was the usual amount of vendors. We’re planning to go to the one in August because I got lots of great deals! Looks like you all found some great pieces too! Can’t wait to see what the furniture finds look like in your room! Loving the swan table! Hugs, Donna
CoCo,
I love a good sale and it looks like y’all had good luck although there weren’t as many vendors. Can’t wait to see what you do with all the pieces.
Coco, I love all of these treasures! I cannot wait to see how you use them in the house.
Have a wonderful week!
CoCo, your post makes me want to go shopping! It is so horribly hot here and it’s hard to get excited about driving around. You definitely scored some great items and I can’t wait to see how you incorporate them into the remodel.
Beautiful finds. What fun!
It definitely is hot and humid here in Florida especially in the middle of the state. Good for you for being up to the challenge. You got some nice treasures and knowing you, you will make it all work,
Hi CoCo- So many great finds! I love the swan table – it has SO MUCH potential. I also love the mirror you showed us toward the end of your post. You are so lucky to have Renninger’s near by. It definitely looks like a good place to hunt for treasures!
