From the Front Porch
Happy Friday from the front porch, sweet friends.
Thanks so much for being here and for making us a part of your day.
If you’re in the midst of Thanksgiving and holiday week preparations, it’s probably been a busy one.
How are you holding up?
I was listening to Kendra Adachi, the creator of the Lazy Genius movement, on her podcast the other day.
And I love how she invites us all to be a genius about what matters most to us and lazy about the things that don’t.
Things have definitely been ramping up over here, so I’ve tried to be extra vigilant about asking myself and the people around me, “What do you *really* need right now?” and “How can we streamline this process to make it easier or better?”
Sometimes it can be as simple as remembering to pick up an anti-fatigue mat to use in the kitchen.
Other times, it’s figuring out how to participate in all the fun family activities while still respecting our boundaries as introverts.
As I shared in a letter to our subscribers recently, now is a great time to lean into easy healthy meals, simple cleaning schedules, and good old-fashioned lists.
To ask for help if you need someone to make a dish, and to allow loved ones to help clean up after meals.
It’s about not trying to do all the things, simply the things that are most important to you.
So, as you’re making your grocery lists and to-do lists, I encourage you to make a “memory-making” list as well.
That way, you’re sure to carve out extra time for manis-pedis, Black Friday shopping sessions, smores by the firepit, matching PJs, long hikes, and plenty of pie eating if you like.
The season goes by really quickly, don’t get so caught up in all the preparations that you miss the moments that are most important to you.
As always, I’ll be right in the trenches cheering you on as we navigate this busy season together.

I am ready, and not ready at the same time for the hustle bustle to begin. Are you ready CoCo? I am just betting you are uber organized, so unlike myself who tends to live by the seat of my pants on most days, teehee. It looks like I am missing some of your emails, I missed a lot of what you have been doing here lately darn it! I wish you, and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
I love the quote you shared CoCo, as usual your words remind to sift thru all of the busyness and focus on the things that really matter to us 🙂 great post! Hugs xx Tanya
Ooooh, I love that quote! Thanks for sharing it, and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
CoCo – You always share the BEST links. I can’t tell you how many things I have purchased from your site. Things I still use, enjoy and appreciate. Anyway, the link you shared with the earrings is perfect for a hard-to-shop-for person on my holiday list. Also I loved all the crafts and DIYs you shared. The little tree garland with pearls was adorable. Thanks for all the information and inspiration.
