Farmhouse Inspired Entry Makeover Plans
Today, we’re excited to share our entry makeover plans!
Oh, my word, you guys – one thing always leads to another – am I right? I had no plans to start working on the entry makeover this soon, none at all. I’m without a doubt, a “finish one thing before you start something else or it will be double the work,” kind of person.
In fact, my plan was to actually get started on the kitchen makeover since the kitchen is just off the breakfast nook.
But over the weekend, I decided to paint the inside of the back and front doors while I was waiting on the wall art for the breakfast nook makeover to arrive. We already had the paint on hand and I knew it was something we could easily knock out quickly in a day.
So, I set about painting the doors and thinking about all sorts of fall decorating ideas. Well, you know how things go, one thing leads to another and it made me start thinking about giving the entry a makeover too.
The entry is not bad at all, it just feels kind of plain. This is how we dressed the entry up for Summer…
I think I’ve shared with you guys we’re in the midst of adding grays, whites and camels to each room so all of the spaces in our home look cohesive. It’s already making a huge difference!
I’m hoping to share how the entry looks now that the door and walls are painted tomorrow. For today though, here’s a look at our entry makeover design plans and the steps we’ll need to take to make it all happen…
- Install board and batten
- Paint the walls in Valspar’s Bistro White
- Paint the trim and the board and batten in Valspar’s Ultra White
- Paint the front door in Valspar’s Cathedral Stone
- Add architectural piece over the door (maybe)
- Install new light fixture (I’m thinking about this one but I need to make sure the scale works first)
- Install new rug (We picked up this one on sale)
- Repaint existing bench in a creamy white
- Add new pillows
- Add new bench cushion
- Install boards/wall art/message board with hooks (fingers crossed I’ll have enough space given the board and batten installation)
- Reinstall the existing shelf
- Create new sign for shelf
- Add mirror to 4-foot wall
While writing down the entry makeover plans might seem like extra work at first, it really helps to see what needs to be done and when it needs to be done. I definitely recommend you guys writing down a similar list and create a design board whenever you decide to take on makeover projects too. It ‘s such a time saver in the end!
We’re trying to use materials we already have on hand to make these entry makeover plans come to life in a very budget friendly way. We picked up these architectural salvaged pieces for $3 each and we’re hoping to build them out and use them above the doors. I’ve never tried that technique before so we’ll see how it goes, I’ll definitely share it with you once they’re done.
I’m excited about getting started and to also see if we can accomplish these projects before fall. Have you guys been working on any projects lately? We’d love to hear about them!
I’ll see you guys back here tomorrow with a look at how the entry walls and door looks now that it’s all painted. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
Sometimes its hard to decide which project to start next! A few small ones or one big one! No matter, I love your energy, and I think you have some really great ideas for your entry. The salvaged pieces will be your own personal stamp. Have fun!
