Spring Front Porch Tour
Grab a big cup of coffee because this post is picture heavy as we welcome you to our Spring Front Porch!
I know everyone keeps talking about the weather, I too have been talking about it a lot lately myself. Mostly because half of Team Crowned Goat was at West Point last week sharing pictures of all things snow while the other half was happily in Florida sharing pictures of cloudless skies and flowers.
The front porch is one of our favorite spaces and we really work hard to keep it festive for each season. There is nothing better than having a house that celebrates the big things and the little things we care about before leaving each day for work and to welcome us home each night.
The front door is always a great place to start decorating no matter if you have a big porch or a small stoop at your apartment.
We found this pretty wreath at Michaels.
We keep these terra cotta pots on the front porch throughout the year.
We like to try different kinds of flowers each season so this year, we chose Dusty Miller,
Lavender,
pink Snapdragons,
and Violas.
It’s fun to try different combinations of flowers to see which ones grow best out here. The front porch spans a good portion of the house. Once we broke it up into seating zones a few years ago it drastically changed the way we use the porch during the year.
It’s so much easier now to snuggle up with a good book, magazine, entertain family and friends or just have a few sweet treats on a lazy afternoon.
We usually have food on one end and drinks on the other.
I have it on my bucket list to learn to make the perfect lemonade so let me know if you have a special recipe I should try!
We get a lot of questions about the linens we use on the porches, especially in the summer when it rains nearly every day in Florida and the heat is hotter than a firecracker. Most of the time the linens are thrifted and can be thrown in the washing machine or bleached without any fuss.
I painted this vintage trunk a few years ago and we still love it. In fact, I painted a similar one for my childhood home, Loblolly Manor we’re using in one of the bedrooms.
Do you guys love herbs? Oh my gosh, we do too! The scent of these beauties filled up the entire car the day we brought them home from the garden center.
Aren’t berries the best? We just finished strawberry season in Florida and they were the sweetest they’ve been in a while. We’re always at the Farmer’s Market picking up some of berries. We love them all!
As some of you know, I have a serious sweet tooth and it gets out of control on a regular basis.
I made these flower pot cupcakes recently and they were really good. You can read all about that process here and how we created this milk glass inspired cake stand here.
We love most anything vintage including these Haviland plates. I’ve featured them before and am always so excited to hear that a lot of us share the same pattern!
These pale pink thrifted napkins are such a fun complement too. I love how they look against the earthy green moss placemats we made last year. You can find how easy they were to make here.
Do you guys have a Bridal Bush? Ours usually blooms around Valentine’s Day each year but this year it was a little late. I love their tiny white flowers.
I love the tiny flowers on these thrifted linens too.
This rose bush will supposedly grow inside. I’m trying it for the first time this year so I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
So, there you have it! I’m glad you guys stopped by for our Spring Front Porch Tour.
I know for some of you it’s still snowing so I wanted to try and send you as much sunshine as possible.
See you guys back here tomorrow. I’ll share scenes from our week and all of our favorite things from around the web. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
Your front porch is so big Coco. I like the seating areas you have created and the flowers too. Its always really pretty.
Hey CoCo – It’s such a treat to sit back and read this post. Speaking of weather…our temps dipped back down again this week. We awoke each morning to frost. Now today we have terrible thunder and rain as the higher temp are trying to come in. Needless to say no outdoor spring decor for us yet. Your porch is so beautiful! Love the lovely pinks that you have chosen! Wish we were all there together sharing a lovely cupcake and lemonade! Cheers to a fabulous weekend.
