From the Front Porch
Happy Friday from the front porch sweet friends! It’s great to have you here. Thanks so much for making us a part of your day!
This week has definitely been a whirlwind but in the best possible way.
Late last week I left for Bliss Barracks to attend our 2nd annual retreat as part of the Global Leadership Summit. It was so much fun and I learned a ton!
It was definitely one of those weekends you swear you don’t have time for yet leave with a full and happy heart. Bliss Barracks is in a gorgeous neighborhood with lots of trails and walking paths. We don’t have anything like that on the island so it’s always a special treat to be there.
About 15 minutes after the Summit was over, we loaded the car to head to Loblolly to squeeze in a few work days.
We’re not going to make our Labor Day timeline which is kind of a bummer but we got all the bedrooms (coming your way soon) as close to being finished as we could get them.
We still need 2 dressers or an armoire, another chandelier, and my Dad needs to take the medicine cabinet down in our bathroom so we can install the mirror we found a few weeks ago in Mount Dora.
Once that is finished my Mom is still going to look for furniture but we’re all going to take a break until after the holidays.
I’m back home now for a hot minute catching up on work, celebrating my niece’s birthday, cheering on the littles as they go back to school, supporting the ladies of the Lifestyle of Love blog hop on Saturday (sneak peek below), and on Monday we’re celebrating the anniversary of Journeys End with brunch and tickets to the museum.
Once all that is finished, we’ll be back at Loblolly to finalize photos, last minute touches and to have lunch with one of my aunts who has been such a sweet support of the blog.
And somewhere in there, I’m hoping there is pink champagne and petit fours because I feel like we need to toast all this hard work.
Whatever you have planned I hope your weekend and your upcoming week are filled with all good things.

That’s so exciting to hear, Donna! It’s such a great conference. Working on Loblolly has definitely taken a lot of my time this summer but seeing my Mom’s face light up with every project we complete has been totally worth it. Hope you’re having a fantastic summer too, CoCo
I always enjoy your “from the front porch” posts CoCo. I had so much fun going through all the inspiration this week and I get such great ideas from your monthly bucket lists. I’m holding onto summer as long as I can. Looks like you’ve had a busy one!
First – petite fours and champagne are DEFINITELY called for. No question. The ordering of such items should have already taken place.
Second – THANK YOU for sharing my late summer wreath! I am beyond honored and words can’t convey my appreciation.
I am so excited you attended the leadership summit. It really does seem to give you a shot in the arm! What a beautiful setting.
And I literally JUST finished a post on a lavender salt scrub!!! It’s that whole “great minds . . . ” thing.
Have a great week!!
