Spring Inspired Tablescape
Have you guys started decorating for Spring yet? Me too! It feels like the season will be just a bit longer this year since Easter is not until April 16th. Normally I feel like we have to choose between decorating for St. Patrick’s Day or Easter because they’re so close together but since Easter is later this year that means there will be plenty of time to celebrate both. If you’ve had a chance to follow along this week, we’ve shared simple spring inspired projects that you can use to decorate your home throughout the season. So today, I want to put all of those elements together and share a Spring Inspired Tablescape with you.
Our goal with this tablescape was to be able to easily transition from St. Patrick’s Day to Easter. Now don’t get me wrong, we love leprechauns, pots of gold and rainbows but we also wanted to be able to create projects that could be used throughout the spring season indoors and outdoors too.
We figured the best way to pull it off was to give a nod to St. Patrick’s Day and all things green with touches of gold here and there.
We made this easy succulent centerpiece in literally a few minutes. You can read all about it in this post. No playing, it took us longer to drive to town and choose the plants we wanted than it took to put it all together.
What we like about it is that succulents are so versatile this centerpiece would look just as good on the coffee table in the living room or on the front porch as it does in the breakfast nook. This was our first time working with succulents and I totally want to use them everywhere now. I wouldn’t say succulents are inexpensive but they’re definitely worth trying.
We couldn’t decide at first if we wanted to use moss as a table runner down the center of the table like we did for our Christmas Tablescape or make moss placemats. Ultimately, we decided the placemats would allow us to take a double duty approach and use them at the breakfast table or on our farmhouse style table on the patio. You can find out more about how we created these simple moss placemats here.
If you’re a native Floridian or maybe just visiting you know this is a great time of year to get outside and enjoy all the fun adventures that Florida has to offer. We’re either opening all the windows or eating outside almost every day now.
My mom bought me this set of Haviland china years ago at an antique store that was going out of business and the white dinner plate underneath was the ironstone set she used when she and my dad were first married.
We’ve had these stemmed glasses for forever. We use them all the time. When the littles come to visit they ask to drink champagne out of these glasses which always gives me the giggles because A.) these are WAY too big to be champagne glasses and B.) they’re drinking sparkling cider.
The green and white napkins were a thrifted find from our girls trip to Mount Dora and the place settings have been with us for years.
These cute jadeite inspired individual cupcake stands remind me of something you would find in an old farmhouse. They were easy to make and were super budget friendly too. We’re planning to use them all year! You can find out to make your own here.
I was this close to making St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes but I found myself running behind at the last minute. These are lemon from a great bakery that my bestie S picked up.
If you’re having people over for brunch, dinner or even a snack don’t feel like you have to do everything, ok? Help yourself out and pick up something easy like this. You’re not only buying yourself some time but you’re also supporting local small businesses which is always a good thing. Plus, yellow could be used in place of gold for St. Patrick’s Day so double bonus!
I’ll probably add a charger, change out the Haviland plates and move the succulent centerpiece to another room when I get ready to decorate for Easter but for now this Spring Inspired Tablescape is good to go. I’m off to try one of these lemon cupcakes.
In the past, I would be nibbling on the sweets before checking the pictures to make sure I got all the shots I wanted. You can’t even imagine how many times I’ve panicked thinking I had nailed them all only to realize some of them had to be retaken and I was already one cupcake down ha ha!
See you guys back here tomorrow. I’ll share everything that’s been happening behind the scenes this week and all of our favorite things from around the web. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
I love how pretty, fresh, and feminine this tablescape is! It says spring and St. Patrick’s day without screaming either of their names. Great job!
Nancy
CoCo – your table is gorgeous! Love all of the pretty green elements. We were ready for Spring…but it is currently 31 degrees here. Crazy weather made a u-turn!
