Christmas Dining Room at Loblolly Manor
The week before Thanksgiving I took a few days off to help my mom put the finishing holiday touches on Loblolly Manor. As soon as I walked through the front door this wave of nostalgia totally hit me. It’s been almost a year to the day since we started moving all of the furnishings into Loblolly and making the jump from house to home. We were so swamped for time last year the only thing we put up was the tree but this year, it’s a bit more festive. Welcome to Christmas in the dining room at Loblolly Manor…
The dining room has always been and always will be one of my favorite spaces in the entire house.
It has the buffet we found at the last minute (read we almost bought a china cabinet) and I painted it in French Linen.
My dad built the table which fits all 12 of us and one afternoon my mom and I painted all of the chairs.
A few days later we changed this kneeling bench into a sitting bench thanks to help from my bestie S and the seating was finally complete.
With a table this long we knew we would have to have pretty substantial lighting fixtures. It took us forever to find the matching chandeliers but once we did, we totally fell in love.
They were our inspiration for the place settings.
Give me layers of vintage china over the brand new stuff any day of the week. The place mats are actually paper.
It was my mom’s idea to mix the shades of gold, champagne and mercury glass.
I love how she added the faux fur throw as a table runner too.
And while I’m gushing, can we just talk about this little arrangement?
If you guys lived a closer I would have you over for holiday dinner in a heartbeat. I’m getting so excited about Christmas this year, are you?
See you guys back here tomorrow. I was able to snap a few more pictures of Loblolly Manor as the sun was setting so I’ll share the rest of the house with you. Until then, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
CoCo – the dining room is beautiful! We too prefer the vintage china and dishes – your mom’s collection is so very pretty! We can’t wait to see what y’all do next!
You guys are so sweet, thank you! Hugs to you both, CoCo
This dining room is stunning CoCo. Wow, I just love it all!
I appreciate you, Sarah, thank you!
What a great place to hang out with your family! I’ve always loved how you changed that bench from a prayer bench into a bench your whole family can use. It’s fantastic.
Yes, Bonnie, that has been one of my favorite projects too. Thank you for your sweet words, CoCo
