From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch you guys! How has your week been? I hope it’s been fabulous and you’ve gotten a lot accomplished. Can you believe we’re already in November – Oh, my word – me either!

Well, this week I’ve been laser focused on the horse farm project. There are so many things about this project that have gone really, really, well. That being said, the things that have gone bad have gone REALLY bad…like make you want to pull your hair out bad.

The ceilings have been scraped, one wall has been completely removed, the entire house has been painted, the molding is almost finished and the new floors were finished this week. Things are progressing fairly well so far which means, I’m on deck next.

My mom helped me shop for a lot of accessories and other staples this week which felt like the biggest blessing. She totally gets me, even when I feel like a crazy pants sometimes. I have a few more rugs to order, artwork to figure out and then it will be time to start painting furniture so we can begin the install. Fingers crossed we make our Thanksgiving deadline.

Scenes from my week…

*So many fabric samples, so little time. This one was our favorite from this week’s shopping trip.

* A few goodies we’ll be using at the horse farm project

* This is page 1 of 8 with all the changes from the last meeting. Yes, they all look just like this…yikes…and yet this is part of what it takes to make a house a home. I’m so excited we’re at this stage.

* Chocolate chip turtle cookies and Christmas inspiration for the win!

5 Items to Ditch if You Want Your Home to be More Stylish

This post, “Burnt Out? Us Too” hit just a little too close to home for me and I’m betting some of you are going to be able to relate as well.

I can’t remember if I shared this book or not yet but I’m really excited about reading it. I’ve seriously struggled with sugar and at times stress eating (brownie batter anyone?) for the last few years and it seems like a bit of a lifeline. I’ll keep you posted.

  1. Every single one of these photos gets us ready for Thanksgiving. It falls on a very hard date for our family this year but we are forever grateful for the love, memories and joy.
