Spring Home Tour & Hop into Easter Blog Hop

Today, I’m sharing our Spring Home Tour and teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers for the Hop into Easter Blog Hop!

As always, a special shout out and thank you to Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home for putting this blog hop together.

If you’re coming over from The Red Painted Cottage, welcome, we’re excited you’re here.  Didn’t you guys love the way Carol welcomed Spring and Easter into her home? Everything was so pretty!

Gathering Spring Home Tour & Hop Into Easter Blog Hop Inspiration

I have to tell you guys, we were a bit late gathering items for Spring this year.  It was mostly due to finishing up the dining room makeover and traveling back and forth to my parent’s primary home, Bliss Barracks, to give their lanai a makeover.

There were several times I thought, maybe I shouldn’t bother decorating since Easter was only a month away.

But looking back, I’m so glad I pushed myself to add bits of Spring into our home décor.  It really does feel like we’re ready to celebrate one of our favorite seasons of the year now.

Easter Basket Ideas

In fact, I was on the phone with my baby sister the other day talking about our Easter plans and somehow, we got on the subject of Easter baskets.

She’s on a major purge at her house too and was telling me she was all sorts of torn about what to put in the littles Easter basket this year.

“I don’t want them to miss out on the experience of getting an Easter basket. But we don’t need a lot of small stuff or any more clutter either. That said, I definitely don’t think filling up an entire basket with candy is a good idea at all,” she said with an extra emphasis on the words at all which totally gave me the giggles.

I gave her my best sisterly advice with a few easy non-candy ideas. Things like books, art supplies, pjs, swimming pool or beach gear, bath bombs, gardening tools and seeds, sports equipment or to give them an experience instead of a big Easter basket.

Finding Joy Every Day

After we finished our conversation, I hung up the phone and thought about what an interesting time of year it is.

On one hand, we’re so excited the cold weather is (mostly) over we can’t wait to get outside and start enjoying some of our favorite Springtime activities.

On the other hand, we still have to deal with all those daily tasks that can creep up, pile up and overwhelm us – if we let it.

It doesn’t have to be that way though, you guys.

We just have to take the pressure off ourselves and our calendars and focus on what matters most to us this Spring.

And the real beauty of it all is that we can focus on anything we want!

Decorating Your Home For Spring

Maybe you want to make sure your house is fully decorated and dressed to the nines because it makes you happy.

I say go for it – let that be your top priority.

Or maybe your kids are in so many activities, it’s all you can do just to get real plates on the table each night – that’s ok, too!

You can easily pick up Easter plates at big box stores. I found these at Hobby Lobby!

Perhaps you travel a lot and don’t have time to decorate every room in the house for Easter.

I say, don’t even sweat it!

Find the places in your home that give you the most joy.  Decorate those spaces to your heart’s content whether one person will see it or a hundred people will see it.

Maybe you’re so tired from being a caregiver to a new baby, a best friend or a parent, you can’t put one more thing on your to-do list.

You know what? I say let yourself rest.

And the next time you go to the grocery store pick up a bouquet of the prettiest flowers they have and celebrate how strong you’ve been one more day.

I think sometimes we see people online or in our daily lives that look like they have it all together.

And I’m not judging, maybe they do.

But if you don’t feel that way in this season of your life or if you feel like you’re doing all you can do to keep on keeping on – that’s awesome too!

Taking Time to Celebrate Spring

Spring is a great time to celebrate where you are right now because every day, we’re inching closer to Easter.

And before we know it, Easter will give way to Summer.

So, while we’re here and we can still hold onto all that Spring has to offer, I think it’s important to remember what Easter is all about – painful endings that turned into beautiful beginnings, the thrill of hope and a grace filled life we’re blessed to live.

And that my friends, is definitely something to celebrate.

  8. CoCo, how lovely and with all you’ve been through the past few months, you give us all a “pep-talk”! However, I am not surprised – that seems to be normal for you – such an encourager, making those around you feel good about themselves! I don’t quite understand why women put so much “guilt” on ourselves, when we don’t feel “perfect” – and really, none of us are. Only the one who gave His life for us and rose again – which is the reason we celebrate Easter. I do love to have Spring come alive inside – even if only in a room or two – it makes me smile to see tulips and rabbits – even though I have a rabbit or two around all year long! Looking forward to seeing another room challenge from you – your rooms are always “perfect” in my eyes!! 🙂

  22. Well I want to comment on each and every beautiful space and vignette but I would be here all evening! While your post is visually stunning and full of beautiful Easter inspo, the message is awesome! I always try to let readers know that there are rooms in our home that are sometimes trashed no matter what you see on the blog. My heath prevents me from accomplishing over half of the projects and ideas in my mind, but I do what I can and sometimes just a bouquet of flowers is all it takes to make a day special no matter how I am feeling.

You know how much I just love your porch! Gorgeous entryway and dining room all decorated for spring. I took notice of the greenery in the cabinet with your brown transferware. Love it!

Thanks so much for joining the hop and for your encouraging post. Happy Easter!

  23. Coco, Your home is absolutely one of my favorites! That porch is a stunner!! Where is the fabric from for your window treatments in the breakfast room. I LOVE it!

    1. Thank you, Christy! The fabric is a Waverly print called Ballad Bouquet. I have it in the Platinum because you know I love neutrals but there are several other colors that are just as beautiful to choose from as well. The material feels almost like a washed linen and hangs very well. Sending you hugs, CoCo

  24. Good message and a darling table. I grabbed some of the bunny plates as well!
