From the Front Porch
Happy Friday from the front porch! We hope you felt loved and appreciated all week. Thanks so much for making us a part of your day.
I just wanted to pop in quickly today as my Mom is here to help with the final details of the One Room Challenge which is a huge blessing.
We found out in Week 6 of the ORC her sister, an aunt that is like a mother to me (the one that inspired this porch tour post) has an aggressive form of breast cancer.
To say we’re all in complete shock is an understatement. We have no history of breast cancer in our family and she is one of the healthiest people I know.
My plan as of now is to finish as much of the guest bedroom as possible so we can support my aunt with whatever she needs the week of her surgery, during her recovery, and in her treatment schedule too.
My bestie S (who is still diligently working on the website update) will be taking over next week to make sure the guest bedroom reveal post goes out on time.
On a side note, this hydrangea has been French Blue for almost 12 years. But the week we found out my aunt had breast cancer it started blooming pink.
It seems like such a small thing but we’re believing big!

I finished our faith-based Book of the Month, Fear Is Not the Boss of You: How to Get Out of Your Own Head and Live The Life You Were Made For by Jennifer Allwood last week and all I can say is if that book doesn’t encourage you to get off the sidelines and start living a “courage over confidence” kind of life I don’t know what will!
It’s so good, I’m leaving it on my nightstand in case I ever need a pep talk in the middle of the night ?

If you’re lucky enough to celebrate Father’s Day this weekend with your Dad or a loved one that helped raise you, I hope your time together is richly blessed.
If you’re grieving a loss related to your Dad we’ll be thinking of you and lifting you up. I know holidays like this one can be hard.
Despite my Dad having the personality of Rambo, he loves competition and is addicted to The Great British Baking Show. We’re all headed to Bliss Barracks this weekend for some old-school games like the egg toss, dancing with the broom, sack races, and a baking competition.
I’ve been working on my recipe so I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
As always, we appreciate you more than you could ever know, and we hope your weekend is peace-filled and relaxing. We can’t wait to share even more with you next week!
Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
I’m so sorry to hear about your auntie, CoCo! You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs, Christine
I really appreciate it, Christine, thank you so much! I got to see my aunt earlier this week and it felt so good to be able to hug her and tell her I love her in person. I know the journey is going to be a long one so your prayers mean so much. Big hugs and thank yous, CoCo PS: We’re back from blog break so I can’t wait to see what you’re up to!
I am sending my best thoughts and healing energy for your sweet Aunt. I believe positivity can make a big difference!
As always I look forward to your posts from the porch! Thanks:)
We feel the same way, Maria, thank you so much! She did as well as can be expected during the surgery and now we’re gearing up to support her during her treatments. It’s been amazing to watch people shower her with love and light. She’s a great lady and she definitely deserves it. Thank you for your kindness. We really appreciate it. Big hugs, CoCo
I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt. She’ll be in my thoughts and prayers! The weekend with your dad sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun!
Thank you so much for your sweet words and prayers! They mean more than we could ever convey. We’re back from break so I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to. Hugs, CoCo
First, I am so sorry to hear about your Aunt. I will lift her up in prayer. Second, I bet your time with fam and your new recipe will be amazing. Third, I’m with you on the wicker and the No Riff Raff sign. I’m totally making one of those! Thanks for this post. Always look forward to reading them even if I don’t get to them as soon as they come in. Big hugs friend and I love your heart and hope. And how awesome to see a pink bloom, for a quick pick-me-up. God is good.
Thank you bunches, Cindy! I really appreciate you praying for my aunt and our family. This week has been a tough one so we definitely need it. While I didn’t win the bake-off we had the best time and it was so sweet to see one of my nephews win for the kid’s division and my Dad to win for the adults. They put in a lot of hard work and were pleased as punch they both won. Can’t wait to see how your rick rack sign goes. I loved that thing! Sending you big hugs and lots of love. Your encouragement and His love keeps me going, CoCo
I loved seeing how the room is progressing. The bed crown adds such a fabulous touch. I will be praying for your Aunt, hang in there!
