From the Front Porch
I had no idea when I penned last week’s From the Front Porch post, how much all our lives could change in a single week.
At the time, they were just cancelling extracurricular activities like concerts, recitals, outdoor events and conferences.
There was not a single case of Coronavirus COVID-19 in my county and there were only 7 in the entire state.
As I write this today, (Thursday), there are near 400 cases in the state of Florida, 13 of which are in our county.
Adjusting to a New Normal…
Like a lot of you, we’re currently working from home, only going out to buy groceries and supplies when needed, social distancing, staying educated and trying to adjust to a new normal.
I’ve thought a lot about how to handle blog content during this time. Part of me feels it would almost be irresponsible to keep acting like everything is ok when there is so much going on around us.
But I also know firsthand, how helpful it can be to have a positive distraction and a place where we can gather for respite, comfort and inspiration.
Afterall, there is a reason we feel so passionately about The Crowned Goat’s mission to be a space that provides “encouragement for your heart and home.”
Upcoming Plans for The Blog…
Given our blog content is scheduled out by the quarter, my plan for now is to continue to offer quick and easy, budget friendly posts related to Spring through the end of March.
April was originally geared towards last minute Easter ideas, Spring cleaning and organizing tips, the One Room Challenge, and smaller home décor projects we’ve been putting off.
While I have no plans to stop blogging or creating content, I know we’ll have to take it one week at a time moving forward. This will make it easier for us to access the supplies we need and to determine which projects we’ll be able to complete.
As always, we love hearing how you guys are doing so please keep us posted. We’ll do our part to keep this corner of Blogland a purpose driven space filled with hope.

Thank you for the wonderful distraction! I’m trying to stay away from all things coronavirus unless it’s important information. I don’t want to fall into the panic that seems to be going around. It’s already scary enough that the shelves are so bare at the grocery stores. Stay safe and healthy! xoxo
P.S. – the menu this week sounds amazing!!
You are so welcome, Michelle! I’ve been on a “media diet” this week and have watched just enough to stay informed but not so much I feel panicked which always feels like a fine line 🙂 I can’t even talk about the store shelves. It. is. so. bananas. We went to 4 stores and they were out of bread, eggs, milk, and almost all the canned foods and meat in the meat department. The only other time I’ve seen it so bad is during hurricane season :/ Thinking of you guys and hoping you’re all safe. Hugs, CoCo
