I’ve had the serious itch to paint lately. I think I’ve had too much time away from my brushes. Or maybe it’s the “no lifting anything over 5 lbs” that makes me feel even more rebellious.

Do you guys ever underestimate how long a makeover will take? You take days to come up with an amazing idea. You draw it out on paper or maybe even a napkin.
This is the piece that hurt my back last Monday. I didn’t realize it until the desk was tucked safely inside the garage. I sat down to write blog posts and when I had finished I couldn’t get out of the chair on my own.
I bought this dresser along with four other pieces of furniture a few weeks ago. These long dressers are getting harder to find because they have multiple uses. I’ve seen them repurposed as media consoles, entry focal points and even as a bathroom sink.
After two weeks of working on this room, I am so excited the reveal is finally here. It all started with this buffet and hutch redo.
Back in January, I found this table at one of my favorite spots while out shopping with my Mom. It was the legs that drew me to the table. I thought they would be perfect for a farm table. The table is solid oak and I loved the wood grain on the top.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to throw this buffet away. We bought it almost 2 years ago and it has been in the same spot in the garage ever since. I loved the curved lines and shape of the piece but it needed a lot of work.
With the bedroom finally finished, I decided to start working on the dining room. Since you can quickly see the dining room as soon as you walk through the front door, it is a space that has needed to be addressed for a while now.
For the past few months I’ve been dealing with some eye health issues. It’s been relatively tolerable until I found myself in the surgeon’s office this past week. I’ll spare you the gory details but it was a very painful experience. Needless to say I’ve stayed away from cleaning, painting, sanding, staining, allergens and extended…
