It’s so cool we’re going to be twinsies, Kathleen! I love this dresser so much and I’m constantly on the lookout for another one. It’s a good thing you scooped it up when you did! I did not have a problem when I painted the dresser top with milk paint (as you see in the photo I shared) because I had already previously painted it a few years before with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint so it had a solid foundation. That said, you might consider sanding the top a bit to give it some tooth before you paint it. I know laminate tops can definitely be slick and paint does not always stick well to those surfaces.
