Easter Basket Centerpiece
We’re sharing another quick and easy Easter basket centerpiece that is so simple it literally takes just minutes to make!
This post was inspired by a reader’s email (Thank you, Ashley) which was so relatable I couldn’t help but take on the challenge.
Ashley gave me permission to share the email in the hope it might help someone else “overwhelmed by seasonal decorating,” it reads…
Coco,
Do you have any last-minute suggestions for how to make a kitchen table look festive for Easter without having to put out place settings and lots of flowers? I have two growing girls, a sweet husband, and my style is simple farmhouse. We are constantly on the move and I know you’re all about keeping things easy for busy families like mine. Also, my husband doesn’t like a lot of fuss and wants it to look like “we live here.”
Thanks in advance for your help. I love your blog,
Ashley
I love it when you guys email me with questions like this!
I had to laugh when I read the words… my husband doesn’t like a lot of fuss and wants it to look like “we live here,” … because over the years I’ve met so many people who have become almost disenchanted with blogs and social media because they say all the photos of “real life” look “staged.”
I can completely understand how it could feel that way sometimes.
So, the minute I received Ashley’s email I hatched a plan to create a simple Easter basket centerpiece and hopefully help solve a totally relatable problem.
Here’s a look at everything you’ll need to create a simple Easter basket centerpiece too…
Easter Basket Centerpiece Supplies:
- Basket
- Easter Bunny (we found this vintage inspired bunny at Hobby Lobby)
- Small to Medium Size Eggs, optional (we found these at an antique mall)
- Faux or Dried Greenery (we used 6 bunches of this boxwood greenery we picked up at Hobby Lobby)
- Green Burlap Wire Ribbon (also from Hobby Lobby)
- Plastic bags from the grocery store (you could also use floral foam or even small books if you want)
- Feed Sack (if you don’t have a feed sack on hand you might want to try a piece of burlap or other fabric)
Easter Basket Centerpiece Steps:
Make sure your basket is clean and free from dirt and debris. I’ve had this one in my stash for the longest time and I’m fairly certain I picked it up at a thrift store!
Place the plastic grocery bags, floral foam, or whatever you have on hand in the bottom of the basket. To help make your bunny more stable, you’ll need to create a surface that’s flat.
Next, place the burlap feed sack over the plastic grocery bags.
We found these faux boxwoods greenery picks at Hobby Lobby. They can be used in multiple rooms all throughout the house and in pots, urns, and containers. We love these picks because they are easy to use and they look so real too!
Place the boxwood picks (or whatever greenery you’re using) between the edge of the basket and the burlap-covered plastic bags.
You definitely want the edges to be covered so it looks like the greenery is lush and full, spilling out over the basket rim.
Carefully place a bunny of your choice inside the Easter basket on top of the burlap feed sack.
You might have to spruce the greenery back up just a bit.
At this point, you can create a simple bow for your Easter basket centerpiece with a green wired burlap ribbon like this one or use a different ribbon of your choice.
Step back – you’re done!
Adding a Few Extra Embellishments…
If you want a little extra embellishment you can nestle a few eggs in the greenery.
I mean, honestly, it couldn’t be easier, right?
I know sometimes seasonal decorating can feel overwhelming. Especially, when you see projects or photographs that seem “over the top,” “out of reach” or “not realistic” for the way you actually live.
I get it, I promise, I do!
The thing is, creating a home for the people we love most is a process that can be both intentional and celebrated no matter what your style is or what season of life you find yourself in.
You can put out as much for as little as you have time for, it’s completely up to you.
Layering simple Easter basket centerpiece ideas like this one or creating vignettes around your home is a quick and easy way to make things feel festive without a lot of extra work!
Another thing to keep in mind is that you don’t have to use this Easter basket centerpiece inside, it’s a pretty way to welcome friends, neighbors, and loved ones to your front porch too.
I hope this simple yet festive idea has helped. Thanks so much for your email, Ashley, and for letting us share!
Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

This centerpiece reminds me of an actual Easter basket CoCo. The eggs are like a hidden surprise. I love it
I love the little eggs too, Sarah! We found those at an antique store and I’ll probably use them into the Summer. Thank you bunches for your sweet centerpiece comments. Hope your day has been a fun one, CoCo
Hey CoCo – this centerpiece is absolutely adorable! Festive and perfect decor for the season. We all know that we can’t live in a “magazine-photo-ready” home all of the time. Ashley will be very pleased with your solution and suggestion.
You are so right ladies, we can’t live in a magazine worthy home all the time. Besides, there is too much fun in crafting new projects and moving things around from one room to another 🙂 Hugs, CoCo
Such a sweet basket, CoCo and so quickly put together! Since I’m a bunny lover, I would leave him out for way longer than Easter! I use my bunnies in lots of different ways for different seasons. There are times that I feel just like Ashley – the “perfectness” on some blogs can be discouraging, but as I’ve said to you before – you show the “real” side of life – thank you again! Love all you do 🙂
I appreciate you so much, Patty, thank you! Your kind and encouraging words always lift me up. I love bunnies too and I’m totally with you I think they should be left out way after Easter. Sending you big hugs, CoCo
