Pear Spice Simmer Pot
Today I want to share you with you an easy way you can make your home smell seasonal with a pear spice simmer pot. Simmer pots are simple to make and can be given away as gifts to family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
As you guys know, I’ve been traveling a good amount for work these past few weeks and now that pecan season is here it doesn’t seem like the travel will be letting up any time soon. The days I’m able to work from home seem like the biggest gift so I try to make them as cozy and as memorable as possible.
One way to do that is to start the morning with cup of seasonal coffee and a yummy simmer pot in lieu of burning a candle. We’ve created several different simmer pot recipes over the years but this is the first time we’ve created a pear spice simmer pot. It’s just as easy to put together as our other recipes and reminds me of pear season at the farm.
Here’s a look at how you can create a pear spice simmer pot at your home too…
Pear Spice Simmer Pot Recipe:
1 Pear (cut into slices)
2 Cinnamon Sticks
1 tsp Cloves
Fresh Ginger (as much or as little as you like)
Pear Spice Simmer Pot in a Mason Jar Steps:
Cut pear into thin slices and gather the rest of your ingredients.
Use a clean and dry, wide mouth mason jar
and begin to layer pieces of pear, ginger, cloves and cinnamon sticks in the jar.
Finally, add water to the jar stopping just short of the top of the mason jar rim. Be careful not to overfill. Screw the lid back onto the mason jar. Shake well to make sure all of the ingredients have fully incorporated.
If you’re giving this simmer pot in a jar as a gift, add a label with vintage wallpaper or fabric county fair style.
You can make this recipe in advance and store it in the refrigerator for approximately one week allowing the ingredients to fully infuse.
Whether you’re giving this simmer pot in a jar as a gift or using it immediately, you’ll need to take caution and care while simmer pot is on the stove as the pot and contents will be hot.
Never leave a simmer pot unattended.
Simply, empty the contents of your mason jar into the pot, bring to a boil and once the contents are boiling turn the heat down to low.
Allow the contents to simmer for a few hours. Make sure to check on the simmer pot and add water as needed. Do not allow the water to dry out or the contents will burn.
I hope you guys enjoy this pear spice simmer pot. It’s an easy way to enjoy the scents of the season and make your home feel super cozy.
Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
