Dear Future Self…
It’s January 31st and you’re about to turn the page on a fresh new month filled with endless possibilities.
January was packed with activities, and responsibilities, mostly highs and a few lows.
There were times you felt like you couldn’t catch your breath, but you made it.
You laughed, you cried, you fought, you made up, you celebrated, you started working out again, made progress on your goals, re-established routines, let go of several things that weren’t working for you (things you had held on to for YEARS) and embraced a new way of thinking.
It was hard at times.
You wondered out loud if it was even worth it.
But you stayed the course, had several lightbulb moments along the way and you’re a better person for the experience.
At the end of December, you gave yourself the gift of a slow January. That seemingly small decision has been such an amazing one, I hope you repeat it again next year too.
It allowed you the space needed to snuggle up with lattes, big bowls of soup and enjoy the winter season; to think through plans you’ve been praying about for months; it gave you insights you would not have been able to see before because you were too scared to slow down; and even though it was painful at times, it allowed you a front-row view of why treating yourself and others with kindness and grace is so important.
While it totally blows your mind you’ve already completed one full month of what promises to be an unforgettable year, keep going, there are eleven more amazing months to unfold!
Use the lessons you’ve learned this month as a springboard into next month. They will help guide you when you’re tired, frustrated, feel unmotivated, lost, or burnout.
Never forget you are loved, treasured, created for this moment in time, the salt of the earth and a light in someone else’s day. You are funny, kind, creative, more talented than you give yourself credit for, and more resilient than your heart can bear some days.
You are 1 in 8 billion and that is not an accident.
It is generation upon generation of divine appointments coming together so you could be here right now.
Life is a gift, don’t waste it with worry or self-doubt.
One of the best things you can do for yourself is to boldly move forward, one tiny action step at a time, in the direction of your dreams.
You never know what tomorrow holds, so get started today.
With so much love for you and all the ways you choose to show up each day,
Your Current Self
A wonderful motivational boost this morning, CoCo! Sometimes I get so caught up with what I didn’t do each month that I forget the accomplishments I DID make! Have a fabulous new week!
Speak to my heart, Christine, I’ve been there too! I try to keep everything in my goal planner and calendar now so I can look back and see where I made progress at any given time during the month. Sometimes my notes will say big things like when I hit a specific financial goal and sometimes it will say even bigger things like “chose to nourish my body with a salad” instead of “ate my feelings and too many brownies.” It all counts and it all adds up, so keep going! Every day, every decision matters and so do you 🙌 Cheering you on, CoCo
Thank you for sharing your beautiful words. My husband of 40 years passed away 1 year ago January 19. It’s been a confusing and emotional 12 months. Your words inspire me to face the next 12 months with focus and strength.♡
I am so sorry to read about the loss of your husband, Lynnae. 40 years is a long time to treasure, care, love, and nurture life together. I’m sure there have been extremely difficult days, some really sweet ones, some sad ones, and moments of unexpected happiness and joy too. Every day you show up, give yourself grace and share love and kindness with others is an important day. Your story matters, your love matters, you matter. I’ll be lifting you up as you move forward in your grief journey and I’m thankful to have you here. Sending you lots of hugs and cheering you on as you take the next steps, CoCo
