Simple Ways to Elevate Your Morning
We’re sharing simple ways to elevate your morning today!
Last week, I wrote a post called Simple Ways to Live a Luxurious Life and was completely blown away by your response. A million times over, thank you so much for your sweet support!
Several of you asked if there were any specific tools or products I use on a regular basis to help elevate ordinary days.
Truthfully, I think one of the most exciting things about living well is that you get to define the simple pleasures and little luxuries that mean the most to you.
And once you’ve defined that standard, you can start incorporating it into your life immediately.
There are lots of budget-friendly ways to live a more luxurious life though.
So, I thought I’d break it down and start with simple ways to elevate your morning.
How to Get Started…
While I’m always grateful for a list of good ideas, I know it can be hard to get started sometimes.
My best suggestion is to cozy up in a quiet place and daydream or visualize how you want to elevate your mornings.
What do you want to see…hear…touch…smell…how you do want your breakfast to taste…how do you want to spend your time when you wake up?
Write down the things that come to mind, then sketch out a plan that feels doable.
Simple Ways to Elevate Your Morning…
For us, it begins with waking up to a clean home which I know doesn’t sound sexy at all.
But I want you to think about how you feel when you wake up with dirty clothes all over the floor, dishes in the sink, and homework or craft projects strewn across the breakfast table.
Does it make you feel luxurious, or do you feel defeated the minute you see the mess?
I personally feel defeated.
And as someone who primarily works from home now, it’s hard to concentrate when things are messy.
Prep the Night Before So You Can Wake Up to A Clean Home and an Organized Day…
So, every night after dinner, we do a 15-minute clutter catcher, and it makes a huge difference.
I also keep a modern-day cleaning schedule during the week and prep for the following day before going to sleep.
It took me a bit to get into the rhythm of a true morning routine.
But once I found simple ways to elevate our mornings, I haven’t looked back.
Of course, I’ve made some tweaks here and there depending on my job and season of life.
For the most part, though, I still find comfort in a very basic routine that helps to kickstart my day in a calm and peaceful way.
My Current Morning Routine…
Every morning before coffee, I have a greens and superfoods drink which I prepare and refrigerate the night before so it’s ready to go when I wake up.
Then I work out, shower, get dressed, and apply my skincare so it can fully soak in while I am journaling and having quiet time.
I also light a candle during this time and open all the blinds.
Once I’m finished, I’ll turn on some music (I love gospel, French coffee house music, or classical meditation in the mornings). Then I’ll make a healthy breakfast, have coffee, take Piper out again, check my calendar, discuss the day ahead, start a load of laundry, and tidy up the dishes, kitchen, and bedroom.
This actually goes a lot quicker than it sounds.
Finally, I put on my makeup, brush my hair, spritz on a little perfume, and blow out the candle.
Saie (not an affiliate link) products always help me feel pulled together and Merit has a 5 Minute Morning Makeup Collection (not an affiliate link) that’s great if you’re short on time.
Almost all my skincare products come from Colleen Rothschild (not an affiliate link) and they have completely changed my skin!
As far as clothes go, I lay all my clothes out (including my workout clothes) the night before to help cut down on any morning decision fatigue.
This is especially helpful on the nights I haven’t slept well.
I know the day-to-day can look different for all of us.
So, in addition to sharing simple ways to elevate your mornings, I thought I would share a few products we use on a regular basis.
Keep in mind you may be able to find a lot of these items at thrift stores, charity shops, and antique malls to help keep things even more budget-friendly.
Here’s a list of products to help elevate your morning…

Hatch Alarm – So many of my friends who hate waking up to the sound of an alarm clock have this and love it. I use an Apple watch to wake up.
Rebounder – This is the rebounder I use for workouts, it’s easy to use and store. Had I known I would love it as much as I do though, I would have gotten a bigger one.
Bloom Super Greens Powder – I started out with the coconut. But it was so sweet I changed to the original and I like it a lot better.
Collagen Powder – I add a scoop of this unflavored powder to my coffee every morning.
Towel Set – These towels are a budget-friendly option from Amazon.
Weezie (not an affiliate link) is known for having fabulous towels too if you have a bigger budget and the bath sheets from Restoration Hardware are soft as well.
Cleansing Gel – This shower gel is made for sensitive skin and has a light scent and this one smells amazing too. We also love these shower steamers.
If you have a bigger budget you might want to consider Necessaire body wash products (not an affiliate link) which are also super popular.
Cetaphil Foaming Face Wash – I use this every morning after working out and it makes my face feel squeaky clean.
Vitamin C Serum – As I mentioned above, I mostly use Colleen Rothschild Skincare products. But this budget-friendly serum option has so many positive reviews I added it to my routine.
I also love this device for puffy mornings.
Tinted SPF – This gives SPF coverage without a heavy makeup feel.
Nail Concealer – This polish is very subtle but always makes me feel pulled together no matter what I’m wearing.
Calendar – I keep a custom calendar from Plum Paper Co in my office. I love that I can quickly check this one hanging on our refrigerator throughout the day to make sure we’re on track though.
Guided Journal – This journal helped me kickstart the daily practice again
Blank Journal – I use these so often that I buy the multi-packs.
Pen – I use this every day and frequently gift it with monogram notecards and stationery sets
Volcano Candle – Every time I light this candle I feel like I’m having a little Anthro moment at home.
These Hotel Lobby candles (not an affiliate link) are also super popular if you have a bigger budget.
Water Carafe and Tumbler – This would be so pretty on a nightstand and a nice way to start the day with a drink of water.
Wide Mouth Mason Jars – Great for green drinks, overnight oats, or smoothies
Parfait Glasses – These are great for yogurts, puddings, and breakfast parfaits. These are pretty as well.
Bowls – We use these for smoothie bowls and Buddha bowls.
Toast Stand – This is great for brunch and weekend meals and it has a base to catch any crummies too.
Mini Serving Tongs – These can be used for a variety of things from sugar cubes to fruit to grabbing pastries from trays.
French Press – We have used this one for years and it makes the best cup of coffee.
Coffee Mugs – Our exact coffee mugs are from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Walmart and were around $4 each, these are similar though.
Spoon Rest Set – We use these every day.
Coffee Spoons – We use these every day too.
Honey Jar – This is such a pretty way to store honey.
